As I was reading my devotional this morning it said "SEEK MY FACE" and I thought to myself I do. And later the verse Jeremiah 29:13 was shared, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart". Ahhhh yes!
How often I have driven by something and noticed something I've driven by a million times and not seen. How many times do I run the same exact path and one day BAM... oh where did that come from? That which has been there all along. I suspect it depends on where our thoughts are on our journey as to what it is we see along the way. But what if, what if we went through life with the idea we have a light on top of our heads shinning brightly so that we don't miss opportunity to see Him. We do... we do have this Light! We need only ask that He be reveled!
So often on my runs I find myself thinking about my breathing, my pace, my arms, my feet, where is the dog... and I lose sight of why I'm really there. For me, it isn't always "just" about the run, it's about my date with Jesus. It is about turning on His light and seeking Him all around me. I find I do this sometimes when I'm driving too. I can drive miles mindlessly and I can drive miles intentionally. Intentionally looking for opportunity to SEE HIM.
Today as we begin a new week, let's begin it together with two thoughts in mind ~ are you in? First let's be mindful of His presents and seek His light before us, let us see all of the gifts, blessings and little things we overlook on our daily runs, walks, commutes and outings. Let our eyes and hearts be open to appreciate and SEE HIM. And secondly, let's be light! Let's be vessels of His abundant gifts, sharing with those around us the light He has placed in us. Our light of compassion, our light of kind words, our light of grace, our light of understanding, our light of forgiveness. Whatever the light is you are feeling today, the light of Joy! Let it shine on someone and in return I absolutely promise you His light will shine brightly before you and upon you!
