The quote: "I know God has amazing plans. I pray for direction to follow them, patience to wait on them and faith to believe on them and the knowledge to know they will come true"
Maybe you've heard this story:
There once was a man stranded in the middle of the ocean. His ship had crashed and he was left with nothing but the clothes on his back and a slowly deflating air tube. So in this hopeless situation, he prayed, "God, please bring me a miracle! Rescue me! Send angels to help me! Get me out of here!". No more than five minutes later, a boat came by to rescue the man; but the man didn't get in the boat.
When asked to get in he simply replied, "I don't need your boat! God is going to save me". So the ship went on.
Exactly an hour later, a helicopter flew right above the man. The man in the helicopter begged the desperate man to climb into the safe helicopter, but the man just replied, “No! God is going to save me!". So the helicopter went on.
After another hour of floating aimlessly in the ocean, the man noticed a small island off in the distance. As he began to drift towards it he rapidly started paddling the opposite way, thinking, "I don't want to be on that island, God is going to save me!”. Shortly after that, the man drowns. Once he got through the proverbial pearly gates of heaven, he went straight up to God, infuriated about his death. "Why didn't you save me like I asked?", the man said in frustration. God just looked at the man, and replied by saying, "I sent you a boat, a helicopter and an island! Why didn't you use them??"
Can't we all be this way sometimes? We seek and ask God and then when He provides, it wasn't in the image/situation/way we thought it would come so we overlook it and pass it by. UGGG
This morning as I soak in Him I'm asking OPEN MY EYES LORD! I pray He OPEN MY HEART and make me PATIENT & KNOWLEDGEABLE to see when He has opened the doors of opportunity for blessings.
I know God has an amazing, incredible, God glorifying plan mapped out on my journey, I sooo don't want to be the fella in the ocean and only realizing when I get to heaven I had opportunity, opportunity, opportunity knocking at the door and I needed only to say YES LORD.
This morning as we share this time, pause and be reminded... when we pray for blessings, sometimes they come in rain drops and heart ache in a storm. Sometimes they come as strangers. Sometimes they come and we miss embracing them. Let's ask God to OPEN THE EYES OF OUR HEART and invite Him to bring the blessings He's chosen for us.
I have a wonderfully God serving friend who is a minister who I admire, adore and love like a sister. When we were sharing our beliefs and relationship with God, she offered this to me and I'm going to share it with you because it truly is AWESOME.
When we pray for a blessing and something happens, be it something HUGE or small... when you say THANK YOU LORD. I encourage you to say "Thank you Lord, May I have another"...You will find it incredibly encouraging when you thank Jesus and He smiles down upon you and offers you another blessing. He doesn't have only so many lined out for you, He has a many!! He offers us never ending blessings! A lifetime full of blessings ~ when we say "Thank you" it is as though that is the end for which we feel we are worthy. God's desire is to bless, bless and bless some more. Let's not limit Him, let's invite Him to continue to bless us and in those blessings MAY HE BE GLORIFIED. Today I pray you are blessed abundantly!
