When I opened my computer my Facebook page "messages" was open and I had mail. (ohhh yippee) If you know me, you know there are a few things in life that get me off the charts excited: being thought of, mail and candy corn ;) OK the last only this time of year but still, I get excited!
The note from a long time friend, who I met while living in Boring Oregon over the summers as a teen, we were camp councilor. (yes! there really is a Boring Oregon and it was anything but!)
My eyes welled as I read and then they leaked. My heart filled and my soul was touched. My sweet friend who has read my Facebook posts and has begun following my blog wanted to write to tell me : "I want to say something that it's taken me 25 years to learn how to say: you're in love with God, and have been since I met you so long ago." The letter went on, and continued to encourage and touch me. And my eyes continued to leak a little.
I AM IN LOVE WITH GOD! Truly, deeply, unconditionally without hesitation, doubt or question. HE has my heart. HE is my truly love.
After reading the message I paused and thought of all of the people who have remained in my life from that time period. Many of them have remained and many of them continue to influence and encourage me as an adult... Just as they did when I was a teen. How incredible and awesome to be able to peek into their world through Facebook and witness God continuing to work in their lives and to see them working through God to work in the lives of others! The memories I have from Camp Kuratli are full of laughs, love and life moving experiences ~ which I really should and will share one day.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30
Today I want to say to my friends from Camp Kuratli, as I think about you THANK YOU! Each one of you for filling me with the Love Of God, because it truly was there at camp where I fell in love with Him. And with each of you! SO abundantly blessed to have these friendship continue to fill me as an adult!
